‘Time is of the Essence’ Luncheon Hosts Dr. Oz and Mrs. Lisa Oz
Benefitting H.O.W. Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper
Palm Beach, FL – On January 27, 2014, Andrea Stark and Judy Snyder hosted the annual ‘Time is of the Essence’ Luncheon benefitting H.O.W. Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper. The event began at 11:30 a.m. in the Flagler Museum Pavilion, and guests enjoyed lunch and a silent auction, along with featured speakers and special guests.
Following the welcome toast by co-chairwoman Judy Snyder, guests heard from Shelley Golden, co-founder of See Eyewear and ovarian cancer survivor. Attendees were then served lunch as Dr. Robert Knapp introduced one of the event’s feature speakers, Dr. Lee P. Shulman. Dr. Knapp is a member of H.O.W.’s board and co-inventor of CA-125, the test used to detect ovarian cancer. Featured speaker, Dr. Shulman is Chief of Clinical Genetics at Northwestern University and shared the latest updates on preventing and treating ovarian cancer.
Wilmington Trust, a generous sponsor of the event, introduced best-selling author and expert on female well-being, Lisa Oz. Oz spoke about her personal relationships, the importance of life balance, and the far-reaching effects of positive thoughts. Her husband, Dr. Mehmet Oz also made a surprise appearance and greeted the crowd.
“The theme of today is ‘Time is of the Essence’ and it’s those things you truly care about that should make up each minute of your day,” stated Lisa Oz.
