Each year over 22,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 15,000 will die. This insidious disease is called the “Whisper Killer” because the symptoms are so subtle that the disease usually goes undetected until it is often too late for successful treatment.

“What an incredible first year for the H.O.W. Strong 5K. Seeing more than 400 people fill Dreher Park that morning was amazing. We had survivors and families, runners and walkers, kids excited for the Kids Dash, and a vendor village filled with local businesses that came out to support us. Our sponsors truly helped make the entire day possible. Everywhere you looked, people were connecting, cheering each other on and just enjoying being part of something meaningful. That’s exactly what we hoped this event would be—a community coming together to support the women we serve, honor those we’ve lost and bring greater awareness to ovarian cancer.
